..."How much is not having to clean your cat's litter box worth to you?" Visit the local pet supply store or go online and you'll find devices, priced from $25 to hundreds of dollars, promising to make the chore more palatable.

"Some of them have a tendency to get clogged and jammed," said Alan Cook, president of Chicago-based Lucky Litter LLC, a new entrant in the automatic litter box arena.

His company's product, ScoopFree, promises cat owners a 30-day break from having to mess with the litter box. Lucky Litter has a licensing agreement with the Clorox Co. and uses the company's Fresh Step crystal litter."
